Tools
These are the tools used throughout the program. You first try them in Session 1 and keep coming back to them in later sessions. Exercises for tools added in each session are in Session supplements.
- Cursor first run: the editor where you have the AI write and fix code
- Uploading to GitHub: where you upload your work, keep its history and publish it
- APIFrame key: the API for calling image generation from code
MCP
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a standard for handing tools to an AI. On its own, the AI in Cursor can only work with files. Once you connect an MCP server, the AI can do things like generate images, control Unity or look up precedents for artworks by itself.
- MCP on one page: how you, the AI and the tool server connect, on one page
- Connecting an MCP server to Cursor: check that a connection works with the simplest server
- This program uses two MCP servers: Unity MCP, which controls Unity, and Tekneh, which finds precedents for artworks
