One full round
One full round
This is what to do after the practice web app is running. Once you have gone through it from start to finish, everything else is a variation. It takes about 10 minutes.
How to start the app is in Reopen.
The screen has five sections
They run from top to bottom like this.
Scene → Sentence → API key → Make → Results
You make a scene, turn that scene into a sentence, and use the sentence to make an image, a video or music. What you make piles up at the bottom.
1. Make a scene
If you have a camera, click Use webcam (웹캠으로). If you do not have one or would rather not turn it on, click Add photo (사진 넣기) and choose a photo from your computer.
There are five face filters: none, puppy, glasses, tiger and wolf. Click one and it appears on your face right away.
2. Get a sentence
Click Turn this scene into a sentence (이 장면을 문장으로). The computer reads what is on screen and writes it down as one sentence. The first time takes a little while because it downloads the program that does the reading.
If you do not like the sentence, edit it in the box. You can also write your own from scratch.
3. Enter the key
Paste your key into the API key box and click Save to this computer (이 컴퓨터에 저장). You only do this once. After that it will not ask again.
Where to get the key is explained with screenshots in APIFrame key.
4. Make
Choose three things.
- Project name. Results are collected in a folder with this name. Anything will do.
- What to make. An image, a video or music.
- Model. When you choose one, the number of credits it uses appears next to it.
Click Make (만들기) and wait. An image usually takes under a minute, a video 2 to 4 minutes, and music 1 to 2 minutes.
5. See the results
What you make piles up under Results (결과) at the bottom of the screen. Click an item to see it large. If you do not like it, you can delete it.
It is also saved on your computer. A folder with your project name appears inside OpenCircuit in your Documents folder.
Next, once more with your own material
That was one full round. Now put in something of your own instead of the example.
- Place a drawing you have been working on, an object from your studio, a note, anything, in front of the webcam. A photo works too.
- Get a sentence, and rewrite it if you do not like it.
- Make something.
This is the first step in moving from the example to your own work. Once you have done it, you start to see what to change next.
When this becomes a work
This is where the exercise ends. What it could look like in the December exhibition is in Toward the exhibition.
If it does not work
| If this happens | Do this |
|---|---|
| The webcam does not turn on | Check that you allowed camera access when the browser asked. If it still does not work, switch to Add photo |
| Nothing happens for a long time after clicking the sentence button | The first time, it downloads the reading program. Wait a few minutes |
| The Make button cannot be clicked | You have not saved the key yet, or the sentence box is empty |
| Making fails | You may be out of credits. Check your balance on the apiframe.ai dashboard |
| Any other red text | When you get stuck |
